Exploration Briefs - April 2015

Northern Star Resources reports that exploration drilling at its Jundee gold mine in Western Australia has increased resources by 299,000 oz to 1.15 million oz in 9.2 million metric tons (mt) grading 3.9 g/mt and reserves by 32,000 oz to 415,000 oz in 2.7 million mt grading at 4.7 g/mt.

Exploration Briefs - March 2015

Integra Gold Corp. initiated a 50,000-m drill program at its Lamaque gold project in Val-d’Or, Québec, Canada, in late January. The company had four diamond drill rigs active on the property and expected to have up to seven rigs operating within weeks. As many as seven rigs will be active during the winter months, with an estimated two rigs remaining in use during the summer and fall.

Exploration Briefs - February 2015

Panoramic Resources reported that Rio Tinto Exploration Canada has elected to earn a 70% interest in Panoramic’s Thunder Bay North platinum group metals project in Ontario, Canada, by sole-funding C$20 million of exploration expenditures over a five-year period. Rio Tinto will manage the project and is required to spend a minimum of C$5 million before it can withdraw.

Exploration Briefs - December 2014

Tahoe Resources has announced updated mineral resource and reserve estimates for its Escobal silver mine in southeastern Guatemala. Measured and indicated mineral resources now total 433.9 million silver oz at an average grade of 346 g/mt, an 18% increase in ounces as compared to the previous January 2012 estimate. Inferred mineral resources total 9.3 million oz at an average grade of 224 g/mt. Proven and probable mineral reserves in the mine plan total 31.4 million mt at an average grade of 347 g/mt for 350.5 million oz.
